At happy hour, residents really look forward to socializing with friends. It’s a time of togetherness and camaraderie. There’s lots of laughter and casual conversation, and it’s a time when many new friendships are made.

Mainly enjoying a variety of wines and beers, residents are welcome to bring their own refreshments and can even store beverages in a personal, secure beverage locker. “Our beverage lockers are conveniently located in our Club Room. This gives residents easy access to their personal bottles during happy hour if they want them, rather than going back to their apartments,” Courtney explains.

Residents at The Manor also enjoy a selection of sodas and water during happy hour. “Not all of our residents drink alcohol, so there are always other refreshments available.” Courtney shares in residents’ excitement for happy hour each week and often volunteers to serve beverages. “It’s a great time for relationship building. We all get to relax and talk and just be ourselves.”

Happy hour is an opportunity for residents to share stories, to have conversations and joke about sports and current events. You’re enjoying an array of people with different things to say and it’s wonderful. It’s also a golden opportunity to meet new residents and get to know people.

Ed, resident at The Manor at York Town

“It’s especially great that The Manor picks up the tab for drinks and snacks,” Manor resident, Ed laughs. “At happy hour, everyone is always happy.” Through COVID-19, staff at The Manor have continued happy hour in new and creative ways to ensure the health and safety of residents and staff.

“We have our happy hour bar cart that delivers happy hour to residents’ apartment doors. They can enjoy a nice glass of wine or beverage and experience that social engagement in a safe way,” Courtney affirms. Certainly the happiest of hours at The Manor, the community looks forward to continuing their weekly celebrations in safe and creative ways.
